After having written an article on landscape photography in the last edition of Art-Exposed, and with autumn approaching, I thought I would review the photos from last year’s autumn travels. In October 2007, I was in one on my favourite places in the world, the western portion of Washington State, in the US. The weather was spectacular, blue skies, warm and the autumn colour was well into the leaves in the foothills of the Cascades.

On one journey through to the eastern side of the mountains, through Stevens Pass towards Leavenworth, the landscapes were breath-taking. The photo opportunities were endless as was the natural beauty. For most of its length the pass follows the wild Skykomish and Wenatchee rivers.

One stop along the road lead to an incredible area by the river, totally enclosed by tall trees, with the mountain peaks towering above, the colour was unimaginable. The water was gently passing by, it was impossible to choose what to capture first.

This is one of my favorites from that area Entitled “Nason Creek”
Soon to be included in my upcoming photobook focussing on Washington State.
